It’s so fucked up!! Interestingly we don’t often get protestors at ours, and when we do they usually just silently try to hand you literature as you pass by. I always wondered whether it was because the pro forced birth people know NYC is a pretty progressive city, or whether it’s just because they’ve gotten reamed

That would be so satisfying!!

We’re just one floor of a large building and there aren’t external signs for anyone in the building. I find (in my limited experience) that PP branches are usually better marked when they have an exclusive street entrance, which this one doesn’t.

The picture accompanying this article is of a center in the Bronx that is literally right across the street from the Planned Parenthood where I work. We don’t have a sign, and they intentionally use this signage to trick patients trying to get to PP, especially patients who may not be fluent in English.

Aww thank you!

So I’ve been an abortion doula at Planned Parenthood for about four months now. I was dreading my shift yesterday because it was a morning shift (I’m not good at going to sleep early and get insomnia when I know I have to wake up for something in the morning) and I knew we were short staffed that day so I’d be the

It’s interesting in her apology how she’s still only talking about sexual harassment and women being able to “express themselves” and somehow trying to throw in something about body positivity and charity in there. She conveniently left out all mention of how her friend likes to RAPE and ASSAULT people. Until

He didn’t refer to OCD or PTSD by their full proper names either. I think he was just using the best shorthand he knew. It is the term she chose to use in the quote so maybe he was following her lead. I do see where being more specific would have been better, but I don’t think it seems condescending. Plus she’s still

It’s not an article about autism though, it’s an article about a documentary about people for whom autism is a part of their lives and identities. He didn’t ignore that aspect, he just described the movie. In addition, I don’t think it’s belittling to highlight Dina’s own explanation as to how the movie relates to

If it had included a terrible fecally themed pun, I might have let it pass.

Second to last paragraph poopsy.

Uncle Jack approves!

Dad’s surname as a middle name, mom’s surname as a last name. That way, kiddo can decide to count both as last names if they want to later, no one is gonna question it if they just go by all three names or throw a hyphen in there. If dad needs a consolation prize maybe let him pick the first name too.

No no, that’s actually definitely the correct pronunciation. Definitely.

Disgruntled former girl scout here. Speaking from personal experience, the Girl Scouts would have an easier time recruiting and keeping girls if they let us do the fun stuff that they get to do. I joined because I thought it would be the same activities as Boy Scouts, just with a group of girls. No. I was a part of a

The Feminist Abortistas is definitely what I’m making my next garage band.

I read the wife thing more as an issue because he’s never even met her, while obviously Scott knew him and his sister personally. If Scott was a decent person, he would have called himself to offer condolences while refraining from being an asshole in interviews. Since he chose to be an ass instead, the next best

Lots of people jumping in here to find excuses and complicating factors to try to diminish the seriousness of an adult targeting vulnerable kids for his own sexual gratification.

Your background doesn’t change anything in relation to your class based blind spots. I doubt they were trying to force the government to do anything. It sounds like they were trying to make a life for themselves and their children, and did not have the resources that your family did. Why do you assume people are too
