Achievements can ruin the mood for some scenes, but it can complement others. I really liked it when the beginning portion of Assassin's Creed III had a pretty significant plot twist which was followed by the achievement "How dya like them apples?"

And magic may not exist in the real world, but that doesn't mean I, or any other Nerdistani, could not attempt to be a Blood-Mage anyway. Hopyfully the costumes get better designs and are made from modern micro-fibres instead of cheapest junk. x-)

just because you grab the last piece of pizza doesnt mean that there will never be any more pizza EVER.

Sortland had a blanket, a cell phone and a box of Wheat Thins with him.

Okay, no snark, no cynicism... That's pretty awesome.

A home run? This article completely ignores multiple other examples of Dunham's disturbing behavior with her sister. Was it done on purpose or out of the author's total ignorance of the actual details of the story?

I've been saying this for a while now.

I grew up in a time when being a "gamer" was cause for ridicule. Shit, admitting to owning a Nintendo in the mid-80's was a good way to get your ass kicked at my school (not at all schools, I understand).

Now that gaming's finally mainstreamed, and the hobby has -finally- gained

My only thought is this: examining violence in games, and how we react to it and why is important, but it's hard for me to muster that effort when there's something about this game feels fundamentally dishonest. I realize that may sound absurd, but... it screams marketing gimmick, and not a very good one at that—I

Yeah, when you have hardware much like consoles cross platform games are benefitting from it.

Here is one example of 6GB VRAM GPU http://www.evga.com/articles/00830… and there are many others. Nowadays PC games have additional HD textures which usually require 6GB like Shadow of Mordor

With console commands, I'd rather have them and not need them rather than need them and not have them. There have been some moments in Bethesda games where stuff would happen that might otherwise kill my enjoyment for a game(a quest might have bugged out, or I might have dropped some important item, etc), but with a

In all of your ranting about how games are having the essence sucked out of them by speed-runs... you seem to be blissfully unaware of the journey it took those players to be able to do a record-setting speedrun in the first place.

It cracks me up that Louis C.K. can have entire sketches where he uses the "n-word" and the "f-word" (the homophobic one) and people hail him as the greatest comedian of all time (which he probably is) but Adam Carolla makes some comments here and there that are not anywhere near being more offensive than Louis and he

This doesn't make sense, the point in doing it up and down is just to focus on the single character. Since we are vertical creatures not horizontal and you want the person you film horizontal to cut out all the crap. Otherwise you would have to stand back much farther.

I don't get people's notion of doing landscape. The object of interest is his girlfriend, nothing else. So why film anything other than her?

You can only tell the difference between 900 and 1080p in screenshots because they're, well screenshots.
