I think you’re confusing production with post-production. a movie is produced (the process of ‘making the movie’) when it’s filmed. post-production is when the movie is edited into a finished product.

The case you cite is a criminal matter where as this is a matter of civil law, particularly contract law, rather than criminal law. It is one thing to be ‘responsible for your own actions’ but it is something else to attempt to sue someone for violating a contract that the terms of the contract itself stated a minor…
