HUMMUS IS THE ARABIC WORD FOR CHICKPEA!!!! All these other mashed peas or beans are just mashed peas and beans. Hummus is CHICKPEAS.

At a recent family event one of my aunts brought something she called carb free hummus where she used avocado instead of chick peas. She didn’t like it when I told her it wasn’t hummus but more a guacamole like medium with tahini in it.
