Huh, did the 928 get a transaxle like the 944? If not then a modern manual wouldn't be impossible or would be a lot easier than trying to source a transaxle that worked.

My Jeep Compass Trailhawk. The programming on the 9spd auto is clunky at best, especially when cold, and it somewhat regularly hangs way too long in a lower gear at highway speeds when an incline has basically leveled out. Its my first time owning an automatic and, while most of the time its fine, I really wish it was

Any electric (fied) car... I lament the next car I buy (aside from my partners mandate) will have to be a CVT or no trans.  Would be really fun to still shift when I want to.  But then just switch it to auto for him lol

Light Duty pickups/Vans. You can have your LS swap and have a transmission that goes along with it instead of waiting to piece something together.

Base economy cars. These are the cars that people originally learned how to drive a manual.

F1 cars. Okay, I know it’s never going to happen, it’s supposed to be the pinnacle of motorsport and has the pinnacle of speedy gearboxes, but imagine the current crop of drivers having to row their own with a H pattern, burning clutches and cogs flying out of the back end all over the place.

Mazda 3 with AWD, or really a now discontinued Mazda6 with AWD. I have a 2016 Mazda6 with a Manual and the car is literally perfect (inexpensive, fun, reliable, good looking, efficient) except for the AWD for my steep snowy driveway in the winter.

The new Pontiac Trans Am Firebird, but only because they’d need to first make a new Pontiac Firebird Trans Am first to fit a manual to.

Base versions of pickup trucks, both full-size and mid-size.

The 1994 Buick Roadmaster with the 5.7L would probably be a lot of fun with a manual.

Mine: 2005 Mercedes E55 Wagon

Something like a Porsche Macan with a 6spd manual would be the perfect daily for me.

All of them?

Focus on phones drives me insane.

I wish the wife’s Acura 2018 TLX had a manual. Don’t get me wrong, as automatics go, the 8AT in it is actually a pretty good transmission, but that car would be far better with a dogleg 7MT.

This would be a long list for me, but if I have to choose one I’d say that I’d probably have an F36 BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe right now if it were available with a stick. Prettiest BMW in a generation + liftback + 6MT = happy.

Any Dodge/Jeep with a Hellcat. If you made me pick, I’d say Jeep Trackhawk. Since the death of the manual Porsche Cayenne GTS, there hasn’t been an overpowered SUV with a manual and no sense of how its center of gravity might not be the best use of said power. You know, a hairy lunatic with too much of everything to

A 6 speed version of the Hornet would be pretty sweet!

Alpine A110. My daddy always told me to either run with the big dogs or stay on the porch, and if I’m going to dream, then I’m going to dream.

Any and all cars with a CVT. Sure, I get that it is a viable, if not at all desirable, alternative to an automatic with normal gears. But please, if you are going to stuff one of those droning slushboxes into your powertrain, at least have the decency to give us another (better) option.
