I always thought the idea of being an upper-level exec was planning for the future...make sure your products are relevant, so they’re profitable. That includes being able to build them in a cost-effective manner. And I still find it mind-boggling that the car builders didn’t run their own chip factories when the chips…

I just see EV platforms—the skateboards—reducing vehicles to commodities. That skateboard versus some other skateboard just really doesn’t matter—I see no “secret sauce” of one manufacturer’s board versus another*. (And if wrong, let’s see it.) Then whatever cab get plopped onto the skateboard will be as option-loaded…
