All I see is a publicity whore-level stunt that wants to be thought of as “art” but it isn’t.  It’s just a zero-creativity stunt done for clicks.  And that’s it.

The criteria was a “new car”.  As I pointed out with the original post, the Dodge Dart ceased production in 2016.

Well at least it wasn’t a Saudi Arabian wealth fund buying them out.  If that was the case, I’d bet McLaren management would be fearing for their lives if they didn’t hit sales targets--be executed and chopped up for easy disposal--the Saudi method.

I’m usually in favor of “credit card money” cars.  But this one...not all original yet claimed to be, a convertible that looks like it’s been stored outside--in San Francisco no less--home of corroding salt air and crappy weather, the sheer grunginess, the bashed-in nose, the badly fitting hood...all I see is a black…

Funny how the setting in which the car is photographed can tell me as much about the neglect this car has endured than pictures of the car itself. Judging by the weeds creeping through the driveway cracks, the dirty garage door, and the unkempt bushes that are literally resting on the canvas top, I’d say this Miata…

I’m a big fan. This resembles nothing else, and is strikingly handsome. It also looks larger than it probably is, which is a huge feat for a compact car. I just hope that, with that particular roofline, that it’s a proper liftback.
