It isn’t even a full-size model with illusions of Western grandeur ad badge likeLariat’,KingRanch’, or ‘Rodeo Belt Buckle Edition’.

Storm clouds on the horizon.

Iconic - “widely recognized and well-established”

I’m with you, David. I love the old truck, but I’d rather spend $12k on a “solid” example instead of $40k for a “mint” example. Because unless you continue to keep it in a climate-controlled garage without running up the mileage, you’re going to end up with a $12k “solid” old truck in a few years.

Counterpoint: 6 speed manual.

turns out i dont want to be really cool

Neutral: I don’t like the idea of an internet-connected car for the same reasons I don’t like the Internet of Things - beyond giving attackers more surface targets into other systems, it’s just another piece of tech that will fall out of support and lose features long before its useful life is over.

You don’t drive a HD unless you need it.

how did the enzo sneak into a beautiful Ferrari list? interesting? sure. beautiful. no

I literally do not care where my car is built. I care more about who built it. Both of my Japanese cars were built in America. I wouldn’t buy an American car built in America or Mexico or China because what matters to me is how well the car is engineered.

Neutral: I’ll only buy a car built in Japan.

I’ve had bad luck with everywhere else.

You awaken in an Impreza Crosstrek. There’s a kayak on the roof rack. You’re wearing a cutoff t-shirt taken from a Goodwill with a picture of a teddy bear that says “Nurses Are Bear-y Special”.

I agree that CD sounds MUCH better than bluetooth. However, my wife was complaining the other day that the CD player in the MDX was acting up. Turns out my 2 yo was using it as a coin slot and stuffing whatever coins (and other objects) into it.

I played a CD (2014, so not new but certainly not old) in my car the other day. It’s amazing how much more fidelity (if that’s the term) they have than Pandora streaming, even with the premium tier that supposedly has better audio quality. We’ve all let our music suffer as of late.

It’s fall of 2022, and you’re taking a drive through Asheville. The mountain back roads are perfect to carve in the FR-S you just managed to pick up for a sweet deal.

My Aunt owned the Buick iteration of that vehicle. It got stolen on the South Side of Chicago. I do want to comment on your open query as to why anyone would buy one of those. Here are some thoughts (from the perspective of someone who was a little kid back then):
