Oh that atrocious commenting system. I did find that you can actually view the comments going up to down (or down to up?) if you view the articles from your smartphone. Not convenient, but way better than having to put up with what they've done.

This is why I only have them in brownie or cookie form. It may take longer but I like being taken by surprise when I realize it hit me.
