Canto Bite (Bight?) seemed unnecessary for TLJ. It may have been there to set up for another movie, probably in Johnson’s next Star Wars trilogy rather than Episode IX. There shouldn’t be anything in a movie that isn’t necessary for that movie and the pleasure planet excursion was pointless.

What I liked most about the reveal of Rey’s parentage is that it implies that anyone can be the “chosen one”. Who your parents are, where you came from, none of that matters. All that matters is that you are connected to the force and any man, woman, or child can have that connection. Not just the Skywalker family.
