Canto Bite (Bight?) seemed unnecessary for TLJ. It may have been there to set up for another movie, probably in Johnson’s next Star Wars trilogy rather than Episode IX. There shouldn’t be anything in a movie that isn’t necessary for that movie and the pleasure planet excursion was pointless.

While watching TLJ I wondered if the way the First Order was tracking the Resistance was through Finn. I figured that Stormtroopers, though expendable, had some sort of tracking device implanted within them and Finn’s presence on the Resistance ship allowed them to be tracked. I dismissed that idea once Finn and Rose

What I liked most about the reveal of Rey’s parentage is that it implies that anyone can be the “chosen one”. Who your parents are, where you came from, none of that matters. All that matters is that you are connected to the force and any man, woman, or child can have that connection. Not just the Skywalker family.

I can understand wanting to see people that look like you in media. Sci-Fi/Fantasy doesn’t have a great record for representation. There are a lot of fans (and creators) out there that have no problem with aliens, robots, orcs, and dragons but for some reason can’t accept black or brown people in their imaginary

I saw it last night with my brother and his friends. We pre-gamed it before the show so I was feeling pretty good. Afterwards I was so jazzed up I couldn’t hardly sleep. I’m still thinking it over, but I can say that I liked it. Canto Bite was the part that seemed weakest to me. I know that it was there to get Rose

The part where you said, “as lovely as Finn, Poe, and Rose Tico are, Star Wars is still embarrassingly white” bugs me a little bit. It seems like you’re saying that in the spirit of diverseness and inconclusiveness the movie has too many white people in it. What is the percentage of white to non-white actors that is

Whoa...So he’s Magus now? What happened to the fro? I miss his evil Bob Ross hair-do.

That version of Adam Warlock looks a lot like his purple evil future self, The Magus, minus the awesome afro he usually sports.

Dick Tracy looks very Asian in that image. Not a problem, just an observation. IMO, it makes the character seem more interesting .

Thank you for a spoiler free review that told me what I needed to know before I watch it without giving anything away. I really appreciate it.

I think that Louis CK can come back from this. I’m not apologizing for him. I don’t condone what he did in any way. I hate what he did and part of me hates him for doing it but I still like his comedy. That said, I can’t do anything that somehow supports his behavior and that means I can’t buy what he’s selling until

Thanks for reminding me how frickin’ geat the Wolfman/Perez Teen Titans is. That opening 2 page spread is some film noir excellence. Almost makes Robin seem like Robert Mitchum or Alan Ladd.

Chastain looks like Emma Frost in that pick to me. I don’t mind the White Queen at all. If you can’t do full on avian humanoid head feathers then you can’t do Lilandra. Just sayin’.

I like bearded Cap. He reminds me of G.I. Joe with the Kung Fu grip. I think he should keep it.

I may need to make a trip to the comic shop

This probably isn’t the place for it, but when and if io9 does a list of best JLA comic stories I have one in mind. Justice League of America (original series) Annual #1. It has all the hallmarks of a great JLA story: the team assembling; splitting up into smaller groups to handle individual threats; then the team

I think Maron referring to “man-brain” is possibly talking his own personal lack of empathy when dealing with people in general and women in specific. For the latter, I can somewhat relate to the remark. I’m not talking about making unwanted advances or crude innuendos. As a man who is attracted to intelligent and

This makes a lot of sense to me. Boseman took the time to familiarize himself with the character and made an informed decision as to how to portray T’Challa. I think it’s brilliant. Personally, I have always loved Black Panther and when I read his comics my internal casting agent assigned him the voice of Sidney

It feels like we’ve seen this before with Triumph in the JLA after their Zero Hour event, and then with the Sentry. I guess this is different because Voyager is a woman? It looks like a great design for the character, retro aesthetic that fits the classic Marvel style. Marvel has so many cosmic level, space centered

Batman is DC’s heavy hitter so I’d guess he’s going to work on one of the Batman books. If not Batman then The Justice League. DC is going to put him on a high profile book with a company wide storyline. He may surprise me and do something crazy like Angel & The Ape, but I doubt it.
