How about I just don’t believe you. Contractors and subs don’t knock off 15% because you’re paying cash. They’re getting their payment whether you have cash in the bank or you’re paying with borrowed funds. Contractors and subs aren’t loaning their customers money.

I love that the book doesn’t shy away from how awful the replicants are (Pris with the spider, Rachael’s true nature). Also, Mercerism is completely omitted, as are the bits with the goat and the toad. Together, those elements really give the whole thing a hopeless feeling.
