I read that interview as well, and I agree with her mother.  But on the other hand, folks still don’t pronounce “Tchaikovsky” or “Dostoyevsky” correctly.

I am an American who lived her entire life (from birth until late 20s) in Europe. My name is Petra, pronounced, as I was born in Germany, the German way: “Payh-truh.” Long “a” sound. 

I literally wrote that I keep it in the refrigerator.  

If this is a planet where the preternaturally beautiful Carey Mulligan is not considered attractive, then stop this world, because I want to get off.
