I am just popping in here to say that if a cat ever bites you and breaks the skin, go immediately to the ER. Even if it doesn’t seem like much. Even if it doesn’t hurt that badly, or if you’ve never had an issue with a cat bite before. Cat bites can literally kill.

I didn’t watch the movie specifically because I had a number of friends who are members of the LTGBQx community who saw it, and then either told me directly, or posted notes about how disgusted they were with the straight-washing of the film.

Look, Rami, I get that you’re mad because so many people are countering you. But holy crap, you sure are putting a lot of effort and energy into swearing up and down that you didn’t know about Brian Singer, and that you are somehow of absolved because of it.

They made Jim Hutton, his long-term partner a fling. This man was with Freddie until he died. But the Mercury/Hutton storyline was completely re-written, which fucking sucks and it’s total straight-washing. Why erase the most important man in Freddie’s life/reduce him to being a quick, casual encounter?

For that, and for literally re-writing parts of Mercury’s life to be less “gay,” and lying about the who/what/when of his HIV/AIDS status to make it a prettier story.

This is precisely why I refuse to see this film. Between Bryan Singer and the straight-washing of Mercury, and outright history-bending, this was a whole grocery cart full of “nope.”
