Try the film ‘Dor’ (directed by Nagesh Kukunoor). It’s really good, and won’t make you cringe the way most Bollywood films do.

I’m not expert either but I do love movies. First, I would highly recommend The Lunchbox. A sweet lovely film. I believe it won The People’s Choice award at TIFF.

Any sportscaster who thinks people didn’t see color when they saw Ali should find another line of work. There’s a fucking reason why Jerry Quarry was called ‘The Great White Hope’ when he went up against Ali. Because whenever a black man became a boxing champ, white America lost their shit.
I said Vermont was “a very happy constituency”. You said “or a really white one”. That doesn’t make any sense. Yes Vermont is mostly white people, AND they are incredibly supportive of Sanders. One does not negate the other.
Lots of white politicians have represented lots of predominantly white states without ever coming close to that level of support. If race is a factor, it’s certainly a minor one.
Yes. Vermont is mostly white. What is your point? Do you think the state being white has something to do with the $10 per capita stat I’m commenting on?
I’m sure this level of support is more achievable in a small state, but I don’t see any reason to assume that Vermont’s distribution and size of donations differ that dramatically from the distribution and size of donations in all the other states; these are many many many small donations.
Well, ya, but that’s the case for every politician. The point is that’s a phenomenal amount of support.
In Vermont, Sanders got almost $10 per capita.
and to add, while some of that evangelical wave came by way of early 20th century european migrants in the south, a lot of the more recent growth was catalyzed by missionary groups

No rape involved, but when I was 17, I got my also 17 girlfriend pregnant. Being two immature teens, we decided to marry, because “love trumps everything” and all that bullshit, even AGAINST the will of our parents! I got a court order (because we’re minors) and, long story short, two years later we’re divorced…
In my experience, Portuguese speakers, at least Brazilian ones, when erring this particular word do it in the following manner: for the lawmaking body - i.e.: the group of politicians charged with making laws - they use “Legislative”, as a noum istead as an adjective, as it is in English, because our word for it is…
thank you - i used to blog professionally, but when i started grad school (MA & now PhD), that killed any free time i had to write as much.
i discuss this a bit in my piece re: the intersection between beefing up policing in poor neighborhoods that has been proposed after the rape and the additional policing for land removal/ “security” in anticipation for the olympics (as also occurred during the world cup) (aka it doesn’t help poor women at all)
ugh bolsonaro. it’s rather ironic that he called for the castration of these guys considering his own history of rape/praising sexual assailants (ustra). i also literally laughed outloud when i saw that temer was promoting a department of the federal police to combat violence against after the incident considering he…
