@cutmaclass: Stop breakin' their balls - it'll be fine ;)

I thought the Beyond The Red Line BSG game [en.wikipedia.org] was phenomenal because the physics engine allowed for actual space-like combat. Inertial values remained correct, it was different than "in atmosphere" battle. I found it challenging to have to compensate for the inertial momentum from within the cockpit.

@CoKy14: I did not make fun of you. I have a shitty memory for things like names. Although, having seen half the smart asses on this site I can understand why you WOULD think I was mocking you. No biggie. I like your idea about well placed strategic shots killing people. In MGS4 there was a level where you had to

Wow. I was just talking about this the other day. A principle reason I don't buy more games for my PS3 is because I hate always playing as a male character. I do like combat games and I do feel under-represented.

@CoKy14: Why are you insulting me? That was mean. I had Rainbow Six for Ps1 like 10 years ago or something. Lay off or leave. You aren't helping the conversation.

@CoKy14: I agree - anybody remember Rainbow Six I think it was called? Plan your team's strike. Place them in position with move to waypoints on a map of the building. Tell them how to move as you execute the scenario. I think it was Rainbow Six...

@BananaStandCEO: The flipside is, I think, that the last Tomb Raider game to come out had WAY too many super complex puzzles.

I can't believe no one caught this. The Onion did a parody story on military videogames where players do nothing but fix humvees and drive supply trucks all day long. Now THAT'S realism. [www.theonion.com]

@StarDrowned: You understand my point - thanks...and it's she...not he. I just think with the discussions over realism in games, and with the recent post by Kotaku regarding respawning in Star Trek Online with no real consequences [kotaku.com] - that we should not rush to patch a tactic that works. Right? What do I

Help me out here, people. How is that "glitch" an unacceptable action? Isn't it a fact that a soldier in real life COULD commit suicide by running into a group with a missile launcher? Is it an player etiquette issue? It's hard to understand how this is cheating.

Huh. It's free for me on Playstation 3. Don't understand why you have to pay $15? Why so hard?

@Gavinsaurus: Your comment is both true and ironic. It shows that these women are exploited the way ALL women are exploited. They are treated as objects to be made-up and dressed and made pretty. They are "women" and therefore must not have "substance". Great comment, Gavinsaurus.

@Bluevane: I should further add that I'm referring to "rape" or sexual violence - but since the confusion was cleared up earlier in this thread (there is no rape scene in the game) then the sex aspect is overall moot. Be well - and check that dictionary link I posted about what it means to be gratuitous.

I feel sad because when I played the demo it was promising, but then I realized all I had to do was stand in place, hold R1, and keep hitting the "square" button to kill everything around me in a sweeping motion. On the "tough" ones I would do that until the little "circle" appeared telling me to hit the button then I

@Etheris: Thank you for the clarification. Much appreciated.

@Etheris: I haven't played the game so i don't know. In the thread "nick111" commented that the game had a rape scene. Overall forgive my rant - I probably should have an xbox or a wii - more game selection that interests me.

@sabrage: That was harsh. There were commenters who commented that rape was a "honest" fact. I stand behind what I said. I'm tired of the game industry seemingly pandering to male fantasies. Sorry to offend you.

I don't think the men on this board would be advocating for the rape scene if it was a man being violently raped in the game. Men would would feel wildly uncomfortable and shocked by a violent male rape. And yes - all rape is violent. I have not played this game, but rape scenes in games both push away female gamers

It's just a y2k10 bug. Wait 24 hours. He'll fix himself.
