I was really looking forward to this film. I thought it was good, but not great. It felt uneven at times, and it lacked the emotional punch I was hoping for; thinking back on it earlier today, the phrase “paint by numbers” popped into my head.
If Aaron Sorkin had written this it would have been about how the Black Panthers just wanted campaign finance reform and a sensible, balanced federal budget.
So... this is the more interesting story The Trial of the Chicago Seven teased?
