Is there anything that deflates Doctor Who excitement more than the words “audio drama”?

Audio/radio dramas can be brilliant, and Big Finish are right up there in terms of production quality. Looking forward to hearing the Ninth(/eleventhish?) Doctor again.

This article’s unnecessary snark aside, Big Finish audios have been around since 1999. They predate the show’s TV return by six years, and in those early years they had scripts by at least five different people who went on to write for the TV show.

The words ‘audio drama’ don’t put me off at all; I’ve really got into the Big Finish series this year (there are about a hundred of them free on Spotify) and they are at least as good as the TV series (in some cases better). Colin Baker is particularly well-served; he gets the kind of quality material he should’ve had

Big Finish is IMMENSELY popular among Who fans/it’s really condescending to go “haha, what a lame reveal!”

Hampton, 21, was a rising star in the Black Panther Party in 1969, when he was shot and killed by Chicago police—assisted by informant William O’Neal (Stanfield), who we see get the screws put to him in the trailer by Plemons’ gloating cop.

It’s not, really, but white people got really bored with retweeting the names of murdered black people, so here we are.

Still don’t know why the solution to the racist police state is to change voice actors for PoC characters.

Yah she still sounds like an asshole.

People say Bernie supporters are annoying but so far I haven’t seen literal fanfic for him adapted to screen so I think he's alright.

I am stunned this article shows the slightest hesitation about this being a bad idea because “guys what if Hillary won? life would be a utopia right?” seems like a very 2020 AVC pitch.

The sequence toward the end when the US invades iran in 2017 will be particularly great

It's ok, it will still be true in 100 years that Bernie is the person who should've been elected over Trump. But it's more important that we get his policies in place instead of TV shows.

If your whole article is about how the dude that wrote the book is sexist, maybe you should make sure that the dude who wrote the book is a dude.

Oh, hell no.

Is there an episode where she makes just one campaign stop each in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania?

My counter-factual book is about a young designer hired to design ballots in Florida who after a long battle, truimphantly convinces her bosses that their ballots would be too confusing to old people and is allowed to redesign them.

Yeah, it sucks for all of us that she didn’t win in 2016, but she should gracefully exit the stage at this point. I don’t see how she’s such a fascinating figure to have merited all of this post-candidacy attention. I know it’s a bit different since she’s a woman and was first lady, but nobody (I don’t think) would
