What a horrible human being she is. Scum for doing that. It would be one thing to fuck up the investigation. It’s another to ruthlessly do that to the mom of the dead child, which the police officers are, in part, responsible for.

Normally, I don’t wish this on people. But all the threats and rage that the Internet is about to heap on those two assholes? They have every goddamn bit of it coming.
Yeah, if there ever was a reason for The Punisher to be real...
The cop that threatened to kill me and then nearly did (on video) years later became Detective of the Year. The Judge, Internal Affairs, his colleagues etc all knew the truth (the charges were dropped).
—but he also was like “my job is coming home at night.”—
Is this really the world we live in?
No lie, no matter how I’m driving (one hand, slumping a bit, etc.), I immediately straighten up, put my hands at 10 and 2, stare straight ahead, and make sure I’m not doing even 1 over the speed limit. Zero trust.
you do have to be evaluated to be a cop in most places—the problem is that sociopaths know how to provide the answers that people want to hear rather than the truth about what they think and feel (or don’t feel).
Wow! This is a new low for the police. I didn’t think it was possible for them to go this low but...wow!
My officer friend had almost same argument. He could sort of understand why people are upset, but he also was like “my job is coming home at night.” He was wired there for a little bit because the gangs in my area were supposedly instructed to carry out hits on police offers.
I have genuinely thought before that anybody who applies for certain jobs, such as police work or politics, should undergo a mandatory psychiatric screening for this type of thing... especially because such jobs attract so many complete sociopaths.
I don’t. Every spotted cop is a moment of anxiety.
It’s hard for me to understand why people are cruel.
Don’t you know how hard it is to be a cop with all these people demanding “fairness” and “justice”? SO AGGRAVATING.
My dad taught us to avoid the police whenever possible and that under no circumstances are we ever to assume they are good people. It’s sad and I know a lot of other PoC feel the same way.
The only compensation she has is a $550,000 settlement from the psychologist who testified it was safe for the baby to go with his father. Too bad the actual police are not paying a dime.
It’s just horrible.
They got promoted, they ruined her life and killed a baby and got promoted!
You left out the worst, most horrific part of the article, at least for me. What she took away from all of this:
