6'3" is not abnormal. The problem is not over-sized people, it’s under-sized seats.

I’m 6'4"....5'8" is tiny.  I tend to wedge my knees in during takeoff and leave them there until I feel like the person has given up trying.  At my height it is hard not to wedge them, because my knees do not fit in that space.

I would pick up their shoes and hand them off to a flight attendant. That’s your storage area, so I’d just let the attendant know that they aren’t yours, so they probably need to go to lost and found.
