I see your point and it’s absolutely true if you start thinking about it. In my head, the game kinda waves this away by not having Batman show any real symptoms until you’re on the way to Wonderland in that linear level. Before then, you’re feeling fine and there’s no real sense of impending death. Plus, Batman can’t

Blew through Uncharted early in the week. I don’t have much to say about it. It’s competently made, but feels shallow. I got the remastered ps3 pack, so I’ll be playing the other two at some point in the future.

Planning to play some more Pato Box and Yakuza Kiwami 2 this weekend. Not much in common between those two games, except one thing: absurd difficulty spikes. Both have easy regular segments and absurdly difficult boss fights (PB more so than YK2). In YK2 especially, street fights can be won in a matter of seconds by

I felt a great disturbance in the force...as if hundreds of fluffy animals suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.
-Obi-Wan, probably

Hi folks! It’s been a while! I have a baby now, so that’s my story for why I’ve been scarce in the comments here the past few months. Having a child is both excellent and exhausting for me and my partner, and consumes basically all of our time not spent working or sleeping.

Fascinating! I really didn’t get that far (Early Twoson) in Earthbound, so I should have really just jumped into the guide and followed it...I keep forgetting that exists, and on the Wii U it’s really cool to have it built-in to the Virtual Console title.

Will be spending some more time with my lil’ SNES; finally actually beat Super Mario World last weekend (which I never accomplished when I originally played as a 28-yr-old “kid”…) so, have unlocked the strange graphics changes… yay, me…

Last week I got Guacamelee 2. Huge fan of the first. Wasn’t expecting the second one to be so damn good though!

Finished Spider-Man, I told myself I didn’t need another game until I beat Shenmue 2 but it looked too fun and it was. Probably my GOTY so far, there’s just so much fun in it and the story and characters were all handled so well.

Interesting take on Undertale! While your experience was totally valid, the tutorial section is the absolute WORST part of that game, for all the reasons you mentioned, in addition to the literal hand holding being done with one of the puzzles. If I’m correct in guessing, you had that meta-conversation with Flowey

Now playing

What have I played this week: Progress in Witcher 3 has been going well, though there is not much to report there. I am still working through the Hearts of Stone DLC, and spoilers for that are to follow until the end of the paragraph. I just finished the Wedding sidequest with Shani, which was a fun diversion and

Got a copy of Mario Strikers baybeeeee! Soccer all weekend

Hello fellow gamers! It’s been a while since I’ve checked in, as this Fall has started very busy.

This weekend, I don’t have anything specific in mind to play, but I have a lot of open fires going...

The aesthetics of Frostpunk are very appealing to me but the idea of getting that stressed out in my free time does not.

I’m really surprised, because not only I am I still playing Titan Quest, but I think I’m liking it more. I’m really into it, somehow. Despite the heart of the game being “click on monster to burninate.”

Backlogged: The Old Adventures of MisterNoone

I’ve been starting Pathfinder: Kingmaker and while still very early in the game, it is an interesting experience so far. I’m also curious to see how well the writing will be able to handle this kind of traditional fantasy as the head writer really struggled with it in Neverwinter Nights 2.

Came back on Tuesday after a lonely game-less week only to be too tired to play anything so I just zoned out for an afternoon. The next day was my day off and after a nice forest walk, I got back into Batman Arkham City. The game clicked and now I’m thoroughly enjoying the story, city traversal and puzzle-like combat

So the PC version of Fire Pro Wrestling World finally got the NJPW DLC that the PS4 version launched with! Bad news, the mod suite that had a lot of cool stuff doesn’t work with the game anymore and the guy who made it won’t be fixing it (some technical business, they basically removed some of the “hooks” the mod
