The Zelda article has been released! I probably will go back at least a bit to this Ocarina of Time run I did for research (though I’m gonna skip Ganon’s Tower), but I’m glad I managed to get to the point where the game clicked for me again. Really, just being adult Link helped. The Water Temple remains something I

I’m curious: Who’s got a tabletop RPG session going at the moment? I love hearing Table Tales; all I want to do all day is read about people’s characters and the dumb awesome stuff they get up to.

Warioware Gold was a nice trip down Warioware memory lane, if a bit way too short for $40, but I still have a lot to do and I can always replay each of the sections too.

Still playing Witcher 3. 90 hours in (after two and half weeks! Yikes!), I finally went to Skellige. I stuck around Velen and Novigrad doing all the quests and treasure hunts I was leveled for (I was around level 20), but had to quit exploring when I ran out of map icons to mark too powerful enemies.

This week, I have mostly been playing World of Tanks. Still grinding up the crew of my trusty Matilda (Tier IV UK Medium tank) towards 100%. Between some events, Personal Reserves and a little bit of luck, I’ve boosted most of them up to 95% (Which means the three non-commanders are at 102% because of their commander

Getting my Yakuza 0 on. I just made it to the Majima Nightclub storyline which is whatever. I was getting really into Kiryu’s story and really got the flow of switching his styles but I’m sure this story will perk up on it’s own.

Overcooked really tested the relationship with my girlfriend. She doesn’t play games at all so we didn’t get too far. I beat the game with two other friends and I’m looking forward to trying the sequel with them.

I can’t wait until I get to Overcooked 2 on my to-play list. For now, I will be continuing to play Witcher, Sea of Thieves, and Okami! (Of note:I recently learned how to make gifs from my Xbox Live captures. I have become drunk with power and am abusing this privilege in this post. God forgive me)

I have continued to slog through The Surge, bit by bit, and to make some incremental progress. I am not sure why I am playing this game, to be honest — or why I played as much of Dark Souls as I did back in the day. It’s frustrating and hard, as all of these games are. I think they actually did a pretty good job on

I’ve been playing Unavowed, which was mentioned here last week. It’s really great, and I’d strongly recommend it to anyone who likes point-and-click adventures, and maybe even anyone who just wants a Bioware-y experience focused on party member interaction and semi-episodic questing.

As for what I’m playing this weekend: It’s getting into a pretty busy time as the summer winds up and my family and I prepare to finalize our move into our first house (finally!), so games will be a bit limited in the coming week, but:

What Have You Finished This Week?

I didn’t post last week due to some technical difficulties that temporarily postponed my Dragon Warrior II playthrough, but I’m still plugging away at my long list of previously unplayed franchises. DWII remains my main focus for the moment; I’m getting towards the endgame now, with three seals in hand and most of the

Still winding my way through Forgotton Anne, and it’s settled into a nice rhythm. I’m only three hours in, which is a little under halfway, so I expect (and hope!) this Ghibli-inspired puzzle-platformer has a bit more up its sleeve.

Monster Hunter World continues to be just swell. I’ve taken down a Pink Rathian, found the last big zone to explore, and have gotten the hang of the Hunting Horn, a weapon where you bash monsters about the head and then play songs which buff you and your allies. So far High Rank seems different enough from Low Rank in

Salutations~!

Now playing

I’m finding my way through Octopath Traveler. I’d say I’ve put in about 11 hours and have finished 6 first chapters and started the seventh. And my god H’aanit’s quest almost killed me. The storyline was good, and I really appreciated the dialogue with the animals and the respect for the ecosystem for the forest. One

This week I played through Life Is Strange. Coming off of some smaller games, I wanted something substantial but not too open-world-like. Reading Wolfman Jew’s post on it, like often here, it made me want to play it and for once, I had the game in question ready to go. I finished the game just last night so it’s still

Truthfully, my playing has been very haphazard this week. I did maybe two thirds of the second Life is Strange episode in two sessions, and otherwise have made a second attempt with Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance (and yes, pretty much entirely due to the Smash Bros. news from last week). The former is good, and

On the docket for this weekend: I’m going to try to finish Forgotton Anne. I’m a couple of hours in, but I’d like to get through the entire experience. So far, very Ghibli-/Disney-esque. We’ll see how things develop from here.
