I really want to get into board games. I bought a couple but haven’t played them too much. They’re also more on the easy side compared to something like Shadows over Camelot. So when I heard about Edmund McMillen doing a Kickstarter for a Binding of Isaac themed board game, I was pretty interested.

I’ll probably be putting in a little time for my reliable comfort food games of Persona 5 and Splatoon 2 as usual, but I also restarted Skyward Sword after seeing Game Grumps play it, I realized I never actually finished the game and have also generally avoided spoilers (I know the gist of the ending but not much

So I got an Oculus Rift when they went on sale for Prime day. I’d previously tried a PS VR setup, and the lag between my movements and the response from the goggles was juuust long enough to make me want to puke every time I played for more than a few minutes. So I was pretty pessimistic about the Rift going into it,

I’ll be playing The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit tonight. I kind of just want to tick another game off the list before the fall deluge. I’ll also dive into Forgotton Anne over the weekend. A stray comment about the mid-budget games of the PS2 era has inspired me to clear out my backlog so I can get to Vampyr

I have a lack of puzzle games in my life, and heard about Lumines a lot in the discord. Think I’ll have to put it on the list! The ever-growing, behemoth list / backlog... What a thing to be frustrated about!

I haven’t been playing any one game really lately but more just goofing off in various games that are non-committal. I bought Yakuza 0 and enjoyed the hell out of the first hour but am more in the mood for a game right now that I won’t feel *compelled* to play, y’know?

All those 2D games in the early 3D era were so smooth and rich, though I’ll admit I was weary of them as much as anyone at the time because my interests lied more in simulations. It wasn’t until, of all games, Knuckles Chaotix that I started to appreciate the art and complexity that had become possible, though I still

This week, I’m almost all Tabletop gaming, since the first gaming thing I did after the last gaming thread was participate in Friday Night Magic at my local gaming store. Fairly obviously, this involved Magic: The Gathering.

After much fanfare, I tried to give No Man’s Sky NEXT a go with some friends this Tuesday.

First of all, a friendly reminder that you have until tonight (Eastern time) for the 60th edition of the Game Revue Club in the Gameological group on Steam! Here’s the Web link:

Can anyone start a ‘What have you finished this week?’ thread? If so:

There was vacationing to be done, so this will probably be punctual. Odds are this weekend will be when I finally tackle Octopath Traveler.

Salutations~!

More Fallout: New Vegas DLC this week as I dived into Old World Blues. I mistakenly thought it was the second one released, when that was in fact Honest Hearts, but it makes a lot of sense to play through it immediately after Dead Money because of all of the story connections between the two.

Since I wasn’t here last week (because I had to sleep Thursday night and feel bad if I don’t make my comment early on for reasons too dumb to articulate), I have decided to put Hollow Knight on hiatus. The game is great, I don’t want to disavow my gushing about the game at all, but it does very much suffer the common

I’m fine with it staying a niche thing.. I understand that motion sickness is a thing, and most people don’t want to strap in to a bunch of devices when they game. That keeps it from being as convenient as phone or casual gaming, which limits the audience.

But as long as they keep putting stuff out, I’ll keep buying

Pretty sure Tesla could handle this kind of thing on his own...

This weekend I’m diving into Quarantine Circular. I played Subsurface Circular last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I’m eager to try Mike Bithell’s follow-up. I’ll also be returning to Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker’s Memory to hopefully make some progress, and I’m going to try to get back into Bayonetta,

The Summer Twilight festival in Monster Hunter World has drawn me back in, and I finally managed to break into High Rank. I find I’m favoring sword & shield because the evasion it gives is just too good, but there are still weapons I wanna try.

Got a lot to play this weekend, hopefully I can overcome that depressed/anxious “what do I do with my free time??” hurdle and play something. I really hope I’m not too tired to play more TOR, I really want to get my characters up and running. I also got Octopath Traveler from a friend and that’s been really fun so
