Oh Doom. Karl Urban and I still love you even if mean old Dwayne doesn’t.

I’ve been playing Yakuza 6 this past week and I’m sad to say it’s very, very rough around the edges. But the story starts gripping on you slowly, it’s just a lot more slower in pace compared to 0. Oh, and props to the localization team for finally using the term “Aniki” in the subtitles instead of translating it to

I’m on Day 9 of my work trip to Pacific Daylight/Mountain Standard time, and this weekend is the Long Beach Grand Prix, the “Monaco of the West” for racing fans, so it’s more 3DS for me this weekend when I’m not filling in spreadsheets. I’m currently struggling/muddling through the Pro Baseball Tournament of Mario

I’m still slowly but steadily making my way through Dark Souls 3. I’m on Aldrich’s door-step (finally!) but I just haven’t had the time to commit to vanquishing a Lord of Cinder this week!

Hopefully finishing up my 2nd P5 playthrough. I see the Zero Escape trilogy is on sale on PSN and while I know I told myself I didn’t want to get any more games for a bit, it seems a bit too good of a deal to pass up.

Haven’t had much time for games as there are a lot of family visits this week. However, inclement weather in Minnesota could open up my Saturday.

Okay, I have a whole bunch of irons in the gaming fire right now. Let’s see...

It’s been all Xenoblade Chronicles 2 this week as I reach the final chapters of the game.

I tried playing Bloodborne when it was free on PSPlus but I just don’t have it in me to push through that difficulty curve. The aesthetic is very cool but I’m old and can’t take the total lack of forward progress. I’ve been playing Aven Colony, which is a harmless little diversion, but I should really get back to The

D&D Update

This weekend I’ll primarily be playing Persona 4 Golden. I just got the ability to visit the city, it seems, and participated in a delightfully weird little pickup line sidequest (that ended with some unfortunate body shaming, womp womp).

Man, this winter is never going to end, is it? I keep thinking THIS is the weekend where I’ll have to go outside and Do Stuff, but we’re still not there yet. So this weekend will likely be more Salmon Run in Splatoon 2. I love this little mode and have spent a good 75% of my time with the game in it. I’m still garbage

I’d like to get Yakuza 6 next week, but I won’t actually play it until I finish Yakuza 0, which I still need to get back to, so I should probably hold off. But that means maybe missing the first run edition with the little art book. Dilemmas.

Let’s see.Not a whole lot of recent gaming activity.

Well last night I finished Dying Light, which was great but somewhat over-long. Towards the end the hoard of zombies became more tiresome than threatening, particularly when fighting the special ones who have extra health, or any that you couldn’t just run past. On top of that, the final boss fight takes the form of a

Played A Way Out with a friend. Most of it was the feeling of playing a medium-level action game, with medium-level plot and dialogue, but with a friend. “But with a friend” is a big selling point, mind! I found the final plot twist ridiculous from a plot standpoint, but compelling from a gameplay standpoint.

Less than 24 hours after I was here on ‘AV Games’ (why?) pretending to complain about not having the time to play a game where you kill the same damn enemies over and over again, here I am now, about to post about playing time consuming goon-killing games over and over. No consistency!

Having not played much during Easter week (as I was away from my computer), I was back in DA:I again. Took down a couple of dragons, including one with electricity attacks (mixed feelings about that, obvs), attended a fancy party, and went into the Descent DLC as well. But then at 1am one morning and wanting to go to

I’ve been sporadically playing a campaign of Total War: Warhammer 2 with a pal, but it’s going a little slower than I would like, so I have been mixing it up with a war against Chaos on the micro scale; Vermintide 2.

Truthfully, I haven’t really played much of anything this week. I got in some time with Golf Story, which is still quite good, even though I’m not a big fan of either the writing for the main character’s wife or anything related to the frisbee mechanics. I’m doing Fire Emblem Heroes daily, but it’s such a
