I have joined the current console generation! I now own a Playstation 4!

This week I started my new job, which means I’m a commuter now. Until I get a laptop sorted out it’s a bit boring but I’ll definitely spend train time on low-demand games in future. I hear you calling Switch.

I was incredibly disappointed to see there was no trace of this feature when I logged in promptly as I normally do. I was ready to figure out what I was going to play this weekend, and lay out my plans.

I really need to play more games; they’re generally helpful for my mood, and a combination of laziness, depression, and weird emergency work sessions has made it hard to work up much of any energy to do much. Generally, the one I’ve really played has been Fire Emblem Heroes, which is admittedly coming to a point of

The weirdness of Kentucky Route Zero is something I look forward to if it’s ever released on PS4 in its entirety. I stay away from most discussions around it as I think going in fresh might be the best way to experience this particular game.

This is a very good writeup that addresses a lot of my hesitations with the current trend of HD Remasters. Though I don’t know if I agree with this statement whole hog:

Sounds like I am one of the folks who will have “one hell of a weekend ahead of me”, because I have had the original SOTC, or the PS3 port anyway, sitting in my collection (on the same disc with Ico) for 5+ years and never really started it up. I’m in full “kill the backlog” mode now, though, so this one looks like it

So everyone always talks about the theme of this game or the look and such and why that makes it great. That is all true

But there are already plenty of games that fulfill that need of being immediately satisfying and rewarding - that’s the cornerstone of the entire video game industry. I don’t think it’s unacceptable by any means for one game among many to go out of its way to provide a distinct and new experience, even with the

Interesting one this- a project akin to re-engineering a classic car so it handles the same and looks the same, but also features a working heater, something to charge your phone with and decent fuel economy. You want to hear the roar of the engine, but also want to be able to listen to Radio 3 on the motorway. Sounds

I do agree somewhat. I wonder if the best way to do remakes wouldn’t be to treat them like a Director’s Cut, with the original creator(s) on board. The end result would still be a different version and not just ‘the last word on it’ (as are director’s cuts). But by having the original creators decide on what they

Well I’m very much looking forward to your next post - I always find them fascinating. As for your process, I do the same. I could type up everything ahead of time, but honestly doing it the day of helps kill more dead time at work.

Flying home from the UK today! Managed to play the game Right Hand Drive successfully over the last four days, so I hadn’t needed games to this point. If I don’t analyze the data from this trip, I might pop open the 3DS on the way home for either Might Gunvolt Burst (which is running now) or something a bit low key,

Fractured But Whole had much more satisfying gameplay but lacked the memorable setpieces of the first game, from Canada to the extended scene where you’re moving around your parents’ bedroom while they have explicit sex in the background. There were a couple of great moments in FBW but nothing that I felt compelled

I’ve made it to the (extremely gorgeous) Leftherian Archipelago in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and I’ve hit a difficulty spike. The individual enemies aren’t tough to beat, but they gang up in trash mobs a dozen strong and wreck my shit. Plus fighting huge trash mobs means nearby peaceful creatures get aggro’ed by AoE

This weekend will have a big trip to Bed Bath & Beyond for some home goods since our roommate moved out and we’re taking her bigger bedroom soon.

Nothing big to update everyone on - more of the same for me this weekend. Due to time & budget constraints, I won’t be picking up any new games any time soon, but I still have a backlog to work through anyway (Cuphead, Battlefront II, and Destiny 2.) I am still working on my game but things have been crawling along in

Hi folks! This week my partner and I spent a little more time with Night in the Woods, and we’re definitely becoming attached to the characters. I follow the dev team on Twitter, and it’s pretty great to see them all excited for the latest Kentucky Route Zero at the same time that I’m picking up some strong influence

Shaka, when the walls fell.

Loved Revengeance. Like most Platinum games, I struggled through the first two levels or so, sucking mightily, but once the gameplay systems ‘clicked’ I started over and loved every second of it. My only nitpick, and it is small, is that when I went back to try and S-Rank every scene on Hard(because of how much I
