...And finally, my article on Mass Effect: Andromeda is complete. It’s something of which I’m really proud, and I think I managed to get at a number of the problems that were around of and part of it. I’m leading this off at the top mostly because really, what I played this week is less interesting: more DOOM, and

Reposting from elsewhere.

What Have You Finished This Week?

One week later, still playing Pocket Camp. It’s been a pretty charming experience. While it doesn’t match up to its predecessors in variety of bugs, fish, and tasks, it’s also a phone game so replicating classic AC would have been a tall order. For me, it does just enough to capture some of that Animal Crossing feel.

I really enjoyed Stories Untold, and recommended it to anyone I could. It does not waste your time, and is incredibly inventive.

My most locally-competetive deck was built off of banding and the Moorish Cavalry/Jihad combo from Arabian Knights, and was the first time my local scene saw what was later dubbed “weenie white.” Mine really wasn’t a proper weenie white given the banding focus, but it was close enough.

Finally picked up Fallout 4 this week, as I’ve learned to wait for the GOTY edition to show up. Having a lot of fun with the Boston setting and noir-esque story.

I’m also spending way too much time micro-managing my settlements.

This week I’ve been steadily powering up my Titan in Destiny 2, and goofing off in the Crucible with the likes of snazzlenuts, BarryBillericay, and Arturs. I’m happy to report that Bungie has maintained their usual level of quality in the online multiplayer space. The shooting is as snappy as ever. I’m realizing now

So busy, so busy all the time. This weekend will be spent shuttling Intern Flam to LEGO League events, including Regionals, so I’ll be bringing my 3DS with me to put some more time into Pokemon Ultra Sun. It’s always interesting to see who crops up to balance your team early on. If you’d told me Grubbin and Wingull

So I haven’t finished Zelda (I’m on the last Divine Beast, which, for me, is in Gerudo), and I’m maybe two thirds of the way through Wolfenstein II, but this week got devoured by Skyrim on the Switch. I already played through the game once before, and I even put in maybe twenty more hours when it came out on PS4, but

I’m swamped with great games right now which is good but damn I did not think metal gear solid v would get its claws in me. The opening is dumb as hell and the story is disappointing without even addressing the complete lack of panache or pacing it’s told with. But hot damn is that game play good.

MGSV does a lot

I finally finished Mass Effect: Andromeda, and I’m in the process of finishing my article on it. In the end, while it was mostly a banal experience that indulged in some of the absolute worst tropes of open world design, and the writing was poor in general, I also ended up liking some of the characters (most of my

I’m not sure what I’m playing this weekend. I’ve been busy with Christmas shopping and various activities and just flat-out haven’t played much in the past week, so the field is wide open if I carve out some free time.

Now playing

Happy December, everybody (aw dip, I forgot to spend my My Nintendo coins last month, womp-womp)!

Great news! I’ve joined the Nintendo Switch club! Terrible news! It’ll remain unopened until December 25th! Bought that and Mario Odyssey yesterday, getting everyone that was going to buy you a gift to pitch in really is the way to go when getting a new system with a baby on the way. So now my goal is to finish as

Salutations~!

I really wish I took a picture of my computer today to show how ridiculous my situation is right now. It all started with “hey, let’s just pop in this hard drive and that’ll be it,” and has turned into “OH MY FUCKING GOD WHEN WILL IT STOP HURTING!”

I’ve been really busy (read demoralised) looking for a new job, so I’m behind on commenting, but up on videogames. I recently completed my first full game of Total War: Warhammer as the Empire, yes, the first one, because it was on sale. It was quite enjoyable, although I couldn’t win a single battle manually against

I’ve finally dipped (DIPPED) my toes into Breath of the Wild while finishing Pokemon Moon. For Zelda, I’ve tried my utmost to avoid spoilers, to the point that I think I might have watched perhaps one 2 minute trailer before going in, and honestly I think it’s paid off. This game is constantly and beautifully
