As a Pens fan, it’s maddening to see the Crosby takes. Either he’s a bitch who flops, or a “dirty” player when he starts to give it back. Certainly didn’t get praised for standing around in the ECF getting slashed at the Ottawa bench, followed by water being squirted into his gloves.

Anyway, the water bottle incident

That energy last night was fucking electric, man! You’d best believe I’m trying this shit in my Book Club tonight!

Worse than this goes on at the line of scrimmage on literally every single down in football. And I shudder to think what your take on raking in rugby would be. Contact sports involve contact, sometimes even a bit of excessive contact. I love you, Deadspin, but this is absolutely nothing.

Personally, (and I guess this needs to be said) I supported Kaepernick’s decision to not stand as a form of protest. It was subtle, poignant, and about as far away from “attention seeking” as one can get. Honestly, the only reason it got so much media coverage was because people who disagreed with him wouldn’t shut up

This is very good advice, but I wonder...why are some of us this way? Is it something we’re born with? The result of some traumatic incident in childhood? I’d really like to know.

Would you say Crosby is hockey’s Tim Duncan?

Crosby has been in the public eye in Canada for about 14 years now. If he has any real interests in anything other than hockey I don’t know if it’s ever been mentioned. If he’s passionate about anything or is even aware of the world around him it’s never gotten much time.

We’re ignoring Subban’s embellishment on the cross-check, we’re ignoring the “every time someone checks us we give them a two-hander across the ankles” plays, we’re ignoring the phantom call that led to a 5 on 3, we’re ignoring the hit on Cullen that wasn’t penalized, etc., right?

I believe the war room has different camera angles than NBC does. He did appear to be offsides, but I agree that it was impossible to tell conclusively from NBC’s camera angles.

They say the room in NY has additional camera angles not available to the television broadcast.

‘I wrote that the Caps sending Jaromir Jagr and $20 million in cash to the New York Rangers for Anson Carter in 2004 was “the worst trade in NHL history.”’

Malkins goal was not weak or soft, just like Jakes in game 1.

Let’s be fair: Even though it came off the board thanks to an offsides, Saros also gave up a goal last night.

It would appear the people of Nashville were catfished into thinking they had a chance to win the cup.

Agreed - Not saying that Murray wouldn’t have won those games, but I honestly think that Fleury single-highhandedly kept the Pens alive in the Caps series and game 2 against the Sens.

The Penguins are becoming the Patriots of hockey. Hated by every other fanbase. Goober-ish star player with insane generational talent that makes unheard-of guys around him into stars. Genius coach who seems to have an answer for everything and is insanely good at mid-game adjustments and keeping control of his

If the penguins win, he will be the only goalie ever to win two Stanley Cups as a rookie.

I think he’s lucky considering the proximity to the Manchester bombing and the fact that people are extremely wary of people who manage to sneak thinks into crowded arenas right now. He could have been charged with a lot worse than he got away with.

Exactly....perception (which normally has no basis in reality). Calling off that goal was correct tonight. Pens had the same type of call go against them last round so I don’t even want to hear it. Crosby gets nailed on more than anyone in the league....he doesn’t cry about it nor should you.

One of the enduring frustrations of visiting the Seattle area, for me, is taking a photo of Mt. Rainier, showing it to someone who’s never been there, and trying to persuade them of how huge and monstrous it looks on the skyline. In photos it just looks like the horizon has a nipple.
