I have never understood this criticism of “X sequel just looks like X 1.5". Are sequels not built on their predecessors?

The latter Mission movies have turned into genuine team films, and have gotten better as they go.
Most stories like this can take a day or two to turnaround a proper resolution. This one was “fixed” very quickly, so I think more people will see the final resolution that this was a ruse. I also believe OhNickel came out on top here as handling it professionally, and got some good press to overwhelm the bad.
