Ted Cruz was a law school debate champ and former Solicitor General for the United States. He’s a smart cookie. Cruz’s problem has never been that he’s dumb, it’s that his views are abhorrent.

Maybe McMaster cares more about the U.S.A. and our future as a nation than he does in being a bootlicking toady. If your boss won’t hear it in private, then you gotta go above his head, and in this case that means going public.

Given that the US is a democratic state, and McMaster is working as part of it’s government, it is his duty to provide opinions even if they undermine the POTUS.
