Good on you for taking it seriously!

They aren’t trained to protect the mentally ill.
I’d start with dropping the “friend” who called the cops instead of contacting you or your dad.
Cops who shoot civilians always say the civilian was attacking them. Even when they’re later proved to have shot the civilian in the back. So we probably shouldn’t just take these cops at face value.
Seems to me like many police officers divide the public between those who deserve to be protected and those who deserve to be killed.
Kayden had a service dog specifically trained to redirect him during self-injurous behaviours and meltdowns, so I’m wondering about that whole “attacking them with a knife” thing. A cynical part of me thinks they might have shot the dog and then Kayden when he reacted to that.
Like, isn’t this the exact reason why cops carry tasers and pepper spray and a baton? Also, I think it’s probably a good idea to have police officers on reserve that are specially trained to deal with mental health crises.
I was in a similar situation, as an autistic cis person. I was walking home alone one day and was feeling anxious and sad about my life, so I decided to just let the tears come. I crossed a few streets, and soon enough, not one but three cop cars pulled up, police surrounding me, demanding to know my name, search my…
It always perplexed me why people think it’s better to have the blood of someone’s life on your hands rather than your own on theirs. I think I’d sooner risk a fight with someone wielding a knife than shoot him outright; perhaps we’ll both escape with our lives and neither of us will have to be guilt-ridden for the…
Genuine question here and I don’t want it to come across wrong but do most police officers in the US believe that their lives matter so much more than the people they are trained to protect?
HOW many times does a tragedy like this need to occur before we have a serious conversation about the real problem here?? Across the country, law enforcement agencies have proven TIME and TIME again that they are completely inept in responding to mental health crises. Scenarios such as this one play out in the same,…
Was this a wellness check gone wrong? The police don’t know how to deal with autistic people especially not suicidal or mentally ill ones, especially not if they’re having a meltdown (even if they’re already calm, the police will usually make them anxious again). I know this first-hand. I had an anxiety attack and…
Fearing for your safety isn’t a good enough reason to end a life, to me. It’s way too vague; it could mean the cops were afraid they’d get cut, maybe even need some stitches, or break a bone. But that’s part of police work, you might get cut or break a bone. The only time it should be acceptable to end a life is when…
In December of last year, a 24-year-old autistic man named Kayden Clark uploaded a video to his YouTube channel in…
And Kylie needs to get her shoes off that couch that cost more than my house.
what! I’m pretty good in bed too - ungrey me!
I’m happy they can be mature adults. After bringing Amber’s kid into the argument i’d think Kim felt responsible to calm the waters and apologize. That’s what a good wife does. We can talk all the Kardashian crap we want but they seem to be decent people and have a strong family unit. Good on them. Btw- I’m living for…
My Grandfather died aged 98 last September, his carer is getting $20k from his estate. She deserves it more than I do, she looked after him for 10 years.
The fact that it’s all different carriers, but consistently the same address, makes me suspect code shenanigans a la mapmakers and “paper towns” (no, not the movie, sit the hell down.) I’m willing to bet money that there is sample code that’s been built off of in a widespread way with a bug or even just a default…
I thought Blac Chyna was dating Future and got a stupid tattoo to that effect. Why instagram every possible relationship? Thirsty girlfriend. Thirsty.
