It IS an idiotic quote, but I also wonder if it wasn’t carefully crafted to appeal to as many Republicans as a Democratic governor in the South possibly could. Convince the opposition that it’s an imaginary problem and you might be able to smooth a few people’s ruffled feathers. (I used to work in PR.)

This is my kind of pedantry!

Yeah, creamsicles work. But when it’s really hot and you’re out in the world, you want a rocket pop.

Fun fact, that woman is the directors (the Zucker bros) mother!

I am, by law, required to post this gif :

I love big boat

...something something joke about it being actual speed

Then again, I’ve never considered fudgesicles to be the best possible frozen treat either, but they have their place.

Yeah, no. Typical for an oldie, not a fan…but then we had drive-in movies in my day and that was the proper place for such activities.

This reminds me that I forgot to get an ice cream sandwich from the break room fridge.

Let me guess, . . . Holly and Michael?

Those look like tiny convection ovens for hot dogs.

After all, there is a reason we have the word defenestration.

Sometimes simple solutions are best. I would throw the whole family over with him and every senator that joined in on his little insurrection.

Thumbs up for the tarpeian rock reference.

I agree with most of your post here, but with respect, I wouldn’t call it a small community. There are almost 100,000 Persian-Americans in greater Los Angeles, of all creeds, and many quite prominent and successful. I know you weren’t saying otherwise, but I wanted to point out it’s actually a sizable diaspora.

Who are three people who’ve never been in my kitchen?

It’s pretty well divided in the group between Jewish and Muslim, Reza has parent that are both. The show plays up the cohesion of the dissident community in LA, despite religious differences. The cast members are mostly garbage, but the show is really a fascinating look into this small mostly forgotten community.

Mike and Paulina are Jewish; Reza is half-Jewish, half-Muslim.

Yep, I’m back!
