“I don’t think that’s strange or extreme at all”
“So that’s the problem that we need to focus on here.”
“Those aren’t things that should be discussed in a workplace outside of adult films/entertainment, regardless of the presence or absence of children.”
That seems extreme. It makes sense that there should be more care taken when there are children on the set. It’s strange and extreme to pull out one little bit and decide to question the entirety of her judgment because you don’t agree with that one thing.
True, but the doco was only partly about the child predators in the industry, but also about the adults on-set that would joke around about cumshots sexual fetishes and other topics not appropriate for 10-12-year-olds. I think the ‘children on set’ suggestion was more about the latter.
I sometimes work in kids TV and see no harm in this. The sets I’ve worked on have been safe and well managed, but it’s not uncommon for crew to forget that kids are nearby and, well, kids. So the normally harmless conversations on set between adults with swearing, jokes about getting wasted at the weekend, bitching…
Yeah, exactly! Just like “fully automated factories will cause factory workers to lose their jobs!!!”
I checked with the judge from Legally Blonde and she said she'd allow it.

The show clearly isn’t taking the position that they should all just be killed.
I quite like his interview style. I think the long buildups to seemingly random questions is part of what makes the show work. They’re meant to disarm the guests who are already being challenged by the spicy food - they’re mouths and foreheads are steaming, their noses are running, they might be hiccuping, and they’re …
I have always loved Conan and Craig Ferguson because they are the opposite of the usual fluff hosts.
Feel the same way about Letterman ... senior year in high school through adulthood he was the man. I still find him extremely funny and a wonderful interviewer. Conan is right there with him!! I wish Ferguson had kept his offbeat, goofy show going longer but he probably got out at the right time.
I was an undergrad when Late Night with Conan O’Brien started (1993) and was thus just exactly the right audience for his brand of talk-show. His kind of absurdity and self-deprecation was always right in my wheelhouse. He has continued to be exactly who he is and I respect him mightily for that. Oh, and Jimmy Fallon…
