This is a class action lawsuit, if he wins, him and his fellow offended will get a coupon for one free soda with a purchase of Friday’s Signature whiskey glazed sliders. His attorney will get $750,000 for his legal work.

This. It’s ridiculous to compare the veggie burgers to a plain beef patty. Nobody I know eats them plain. They add all kinds of seasonings, with sodium and sugar and fat. The veggie burgs come pre-seasoned. If that’s how they compare to plain beef patty, they are way ahead by the time you actually eat the burger.

I don’t blame you. That sounds like a pretty fun thing to mess with her about, to be honest.

A lot of restaurants are starting to get them. Go try one. It's pretty cool.

My wife’s a vegetarian. This is the first fake burger that you could give me and I wouldn’t know. Beyond is close but Impossible wins. It’s really hard to sell the concept to non-believers, but this is just as good as beef.

So .. you haven't actually tried it? Good comment.

She thinks all chemicals are bad, because she has no idea what the fuck a chemical is. She thinks all chemicals are man-made. She asked me for a glass of water once and I told her I didn’t want to give her any chemicals. She was so confused. My wife has since told me to stop messing with her.

I have a couple points to make but first must state for the record I’m a vegetarian of about 17 years, moving toward vegan for ethical purposes only.

I’ve had both and (I’m using another reviewer’s term here) the BB was a mildly like cat food. That’s a bit harsh, because I would try a BB again, but the Impossible Burger was significantly more beef-like and tastier. After trying both, I would still eat either over a Boca if I was going for the closest to a real beef

You really should try an Impossible Burger. I’ve had both, and Impossible was the only one that made me wonder whether the restaurant had served me a beef patty by mistake.

It actually tastes good though, unlike any TVP product I’ve eaten.

I doubt it. And given the good reviews they get, I’m not surprised that they added a lot of oil and salt to whatever legumes and vegetables they use to make them. I would also suspect that the similarity in the numbers is no accident. The developers of these meat substitute probably anticipated comparisons like this

You can skip the Beyond Burger, its just more of the same bean paste. The Impossible Burgers I have had have been uncannily delicious though.

I’m actually interested in trying these now, they’ve been off my radar except for reading about them in business news.

How does this dumb comment have two likes? You know very well that he meant that he didn’t order it from the restaurant.

First of all, I didn’t “write in to (the) column,” I commented on it.

The entire tipping system (in the US) is stupid, because tips are based on an arbitrary standard: percentage of the cost of the items ordered.

I tip pre-tax. Sorry, I didn’t order “tax”. I tip on good and services I chose and paid for. Tax in my town is about 12%, which is not inconsequential. It’s a combination of state tax and local taxes specifically on dining out. Now, I do tip well, usually 18-20%+, but it’s going to be based on pre-tax. I consider

Seems like she’s going for The Asshole Waitress.

Righr? I thought this was the salty waitress, not the bitchy waitress.
