This controversy is 5% what Richards may be guilty of and 95% people being pissed Burton didn’t get the job.  Just sayin’.

Now playing

I remember telling a friend that I thought Mark Hamill gave an award worthy performance. However I did not like the rest of this film.

Okay, I could compare and parse his original comments with his addendum, but I actually just don’t give a shit.

The anti-sjw crowd is a even smaller subsection of Twitter and just as annoying as the other idiots. People are willing to give different things a chance, just don’t lie to them and give a sales pitch you were never going to deliver.

Ok, the sub-headline thingy there is misleading in a way I’m tried of.

While some are obviously taking this too far, I can see why people would be irritated at there being little He-Man in the He-Man show. Especially since, unlike TMNT or Transformers, there aren't 50 different versions of the show fans can latch onto instead. This is only the 4th He-Man (not counting She-Ra) show.

Stop trying to spin this! What Nichols said wasn’t really racist. They really did take her job (which she had in writing after being at the company forever), to give it to Taylor at the last minute. As much as Taylor is amazing and totally deserving of this job too, lets be honest about the “coincidence” that ESPN

Yeah, I see we’re not directly quoting Rachel Nichols anymore and just calling her a racist. This whole thing should be about how completely fucked ESPN management is, not about two women fighting for one job. You can go listen to the July 6th “Local Hour” of the LeBatard Show and hear Jemele Hill discuss the scenario

Nichols has been on ESPN and worked her way up to her spot. She is well respected and the players love her.

I still find it weird that people wanted Rachel Nichols to apologize for her half of a conversation as if context has no bearing on what was overheard...and its extra shitty because it seemed to me that what we got(though i’m obviously guessing here) was her complaining that the company is overall bad at diversity and

a white colleague of hers who said Taylor had only gotten her hosting job because of her race”

Still feels like this was less about Nichols being racist and more about her not wanting ANYONE to have the duties that were specifically hers (and were laid out in her contract) because the ESPN higher-ups realized THEY were lacking diversity.

I will argue to my death that Nichols’s comment was not racist in any sense that I recognize or understand.

No there’s been a bloodletting going on at ESPN for years.

I do a reasonable amount of deep frying, at least once a week. My parents are each from countries where the cuisine has a lot of deep fried foods, so I love to make those regularly for my daughter as there aren’t any restaurants in our city that make those items.

yup.  pickle jars for me are the best oil disposal solution.

Counterpoint: Old glass jars (pickle, jam, whatever) with lids work better. They won’t melt if your used oil is still hot when you pour it in, and they have a wider mouth.

It’s like that in NorCal too, just fyi.. A bunch of the stations here have been swallowed by Audicy (sp?) to the point that there are now two ‘classic rock’ stations separated only by how far into the the 90's they consider ‘classic’. One stops firmly at anything post Nirvana.

I love when shows do stuff like that (film and represent cities that aren’t NYC or LA). It’s so rare.
