For whatever reason, i haven’t been able to bring myself to watch season 3 yet. Should I? Or should i just live with my good memories of season one and my meh memories of season 2?

I think this is something that comics publishers get sooo wrong. People who like comics, like the history of a comic and a character. They (or at least I did) like the editorial boxes that say something like [this happened in ASM437 ed.] and that gave you something to hunt for in the comic shop when you went there.
