I think it depends on how you manage your social media.  I use instagram to follow accounts dedicated to my hobbies (dogs, cars, making electronic music), and I see very little content that is inflammatory or controversial.  Twitter is a lost cause though.

I enjoyed the Bernie Sanders inauguration memes on Twitter, but that’s all I’ve got.
