It’s more of an annoying flood of fake news among bits of factual information that I tend to seek out. It’s even worse when casual enthusiast friends of mine bring them to my attention and say things like “did you see that the Pontiac Trans Am is coming back” or “I seen (sic) on line the new Plymouth Cuda coming

When they are from manufacturers like VW or Cadillac who just keep pumping out renders instead of actual cars for sale, it’s annoying AF.

Renders from outside the industry are a blast because it shows anyone who has fairly solid Photoshop skills can design a car better than most manufacturers.

Counterpoint: the check-engine light is fucking great and we should never let go of it, even as we enter the EV age. It should be one of those amazing things that lives on long after its real-world counterpart dies.

The Hayabusa exists to supply engines to batshit crazy smart cars and the like.

They did complain about it yesterday.

The name and logo “Indian” seems weird on this bike. It doesn’t impart modernity, performance, or advancement; and I don’t mean in just the Social Justice way. They should have kept Victory for these kinds of things.

I would love to see Pontiac come back and used as a testbed for all the interesting and different ideas that will never make it into production under any other GM brand. Think about cars like a turbo TransAm, a new Ferraro, a retro-modern GTO, a new Solstice, and yes even a Bronco/Jeep rival - the new and better

Oldsmobile.

I generally find the whole dead brand thing an exercise in trying to make something work that isn’t meant to work. But there is one exception for me:

I look forward to seeing what BMW develops.

The link for the F200 is a story with no images, so here is one

I suddenly realize that I haven’t been seeing those commercials, and I would remember, because I hate them so very, VERY much. I wonder if someone in marketing said “Hey, we better not be putting groups of people standing next to one another on air right now, or we’ll have all kinds of internet sleuths measuring

It’ll never work.  Americans won’t buy cars from our former enemies.  That’s why you almost never see a German or a Japanese car on American roads.

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like these redesigned Buicks are looking a little “Mazda-ish?

I haven’t watched the video yet, but assume that high on the list of criteria were the safetiness of the manifolds and the capability to eject the passenger-side floor panels strategically.

So, you are of course boycotting anything made in China due to the governments continued cultural genocide and force labor of the Uighurs, correct?

I disagree on the Datsun 510 you have in the middle there. I used to daily drive one. when I got it the B and C pillars and doorframes were body colored, but I fixed that. From this:

Every truck except the Ridgeline is offered for sale with an extended cab.

Hah, lightweights! Do the job right and remove the B pillar entirely. CAF.

I think the perfect example of a car improved by blacked out B-pillars is the Ford Tempo. The first generation looks kind of like a submarine with portholes as windows:
