Awww, that made me smile so big! For what it's worth, I ALSO had you hearted before you left your comment. We're just awesome and stuff. And if I could heart you again, I totally would!

I'd heart you for this but I've already hearted you!

I'm inclined to agree. Megan has a history of messing with the media pretty hard. She's also pretty open about the fact that she constantly lies during interviews, so my first guess was that she just didn't like the tattoo and wanted it gone but didn't feel like saying that.

I like Megan Fox. I think she's funny.

One of the main issues for me is that it seems like he's saying, if you're fat, you can't have a "positive body image." This book is obviously aimed at young kids and is meant to teach morality. So I don't think he's arguing that Maggie — JUST Maggie, this one little girl — lacks a positive body image or "has health

I'm actually pretty good at smiling through fury/crankiness because the other alternative (for me) is to swear, throw things and cry. (I get overwhelmed easily. Don't judge.)

The opposite happened to me. I was an intern and then hired (as I later learned) to teach all of the 30-60 year olds how to use technology and then laid off seven months later. I was mortified.

This was a really beautifully worded comment and something I hadn't really considered before. Especially: "The notion of bringing women up to an equal standard with men somehow (in my own mind, this doesn't need to apply to anyone else) reinforces the notion that The Man, a man's life, is the standard."

I completely agree. I LOVE the word feminist — I love the (albeit flawed) history and the fact that the focus is on women's rights/equality. I just meant to say that I think the aversion to the word for some people is the idea that anything "feminine" = "bad"/"not as good as something relating to a man." Of course, I

It is quite a shame! I really think people can be feminists without knowing it. I mean, if you present the principles and ideology, lots of people will say, "Yeah, I totally agree with all of that!" but then if you'd ask them if they are a feminist, they'd vehemently say no. The mind, it boggles.

Brilliant! I suspect I just don't know the right people yet. I know there are plenty of us out there lurking on the internet.

Hearted. I wish I could star you, too.

I minored in Women's Studies in college and in one of the introductory classes, Gender in Everyday Life, had a decent mix of men and women. On the first day of class, my professor asked who identified as a feminist. I was the only person who raised my hand. After the semester ended, she said, "Who considers themselves

But men can be feminists, too. My boyfriend considers himself a feminist.

YAY, thank you!

Hahah, yesss. Thank you so much!

Ahhh, I've been trying to find these episodes online so my boyfriend and I can watch for ages! The ponies are so cute and they are all over the internet. MUST HAVE.

One can only hope!

Do you ever want to stab yourself for being intellectual, having dignity and pursuing careers when people like The Situation make millions to endorse tuxedos and meet celebrities and spend their lives drinking booze and having sex and not giving a shit?

Hadn't even thought of that. I do love this idea!
