I have a friend who wears fashion sneakers on the reg, but it’s cos she has broken both feet and no longer works in an office where it’s required to be in heels. This said, she always rocks them.

So I did a Google for the “rap battle” and find that it was produced by AIER (American Institute for Economic Research), which is where I did my externship during my Masters program (Information Science) a bunch of years ago. My time there was interesting and boring but no one I met except the librarian I was working…
Ha! I didn’t read one comment down to see that we had the same styling suggestions. Fully agree with you.
Thank you for the picture, I really didn’t want to go to Page Six. And this looks awful. I think maybe the shirt with jeans and sneaks or the pants with a white tank and white shoe shoes would have worked, but this all together is aaaaawful. And, like you said, ill-fitting and frumpy. I also think the stitching on the…
I’ve never seen Mulan and can’t speak to your comment, but I love your user name!
I listen to WNYC and WFUV in the car during my commute and half the time I’m yelling over Dolt’s voice cos even hearing it makes me ill. In the mornings I’m late enough that I miss the NPR programming and get the BBC, which is less aurally painful. At night if I get overwhelmed I’ll swap from WNYC to music on WFUV…
Key word in sakisaki’s comment is “secretly”. The Queen might be uptight on the outside, but she makes her digs subtly, like driving the Saudi King around in Scotland. I’m sure she’s not super bothered by Meghan being a modern woman who had her own thing going on.
I tell people all the time that libraries aren’t just books. I worked in a super affluent town library for a few years and we still had the older people come in for daily contact and it never failed that the month after Christmas/Hanukkah was pretty much for teaching people how to use their new electronic devices. I…
I have no dog in this fight, but question: Do you also side-eye Miranda Kerr for hanging around Bieber? I just googled and while Kerr is a few years younger than Bloom, Selena Gomez is a year older than Bieber.
I know nothing about chardonnayandswisscakerolls, but I love the image of a normal suburban person (like myself) having a backup dancer. Going to Stop & Shop? Backup dancer trails me through the isles. Doctor’s office? Interpretive pain dances behind me. Work? Dancer in a loose suite and tie tapping behind me.
My biggest takeaway (aside from the outfit on Kim being ugly) is that the leather looks cheap. I’m sure it’s not cos, Kanye, but everything about it looks awful.
So much this! In the same vein, the only times I’ve encountered dudes in the women’s bathroom is when they’re drunk or need to be in there for whatever reason. I wasn’t attacked by any of them. I’m sure I’ve shared a bathroom with a transwoman at least once but I wouldn’t know.
But, like, they’re a BAD troll. It’s like a movie producer’s idea of a troll. I love arguing with assholes on the internet (XKCD “Duty Calls” *is* me), but the dismiss button is much more satisfying with this turd.
I live in the town over from where he went to elementary school, so now that I know that I’ll be keeping an eye out for any possible family to say hi to. :) (The art teacher spoke highly of the whole family.)
Was scrolling to see if someone was going to point this out. I’ve never seen it, but I’m a fan of Kroll (I’ll never not laugh at PubLizity).
I’m a librarian by education (currently not working as one) and all of the librarians (and staff) that I know and most of those from my classes are all super into privacy rights and freedom of expression. And we fight for both of those things. Libraries are continuing to be defunded all over the US so I can tell you…
When I saw the typo (?) “nrag”, my first thought was that was a portmanteau for bragging about guns. D’oh.
Performative is such a great word for it. I haven’t been to many rallies or events but I haaate the people who are loud but dumb/judgemental about who’s the more “pure” supporter.
When I studied abroad in London, smoking in the clubs and bars was still allowed/normal. My friends and I went out every week to our bar (The Wag) and came home STINKING of smoke and whatever ungodly smells stuck to us so we would Febreeze our jackets (laundry was expensive). I now see Febreeze and immediately think…
