Exactly. Even for most young people, $100 is hardly relevant. In fact the only people I'd argue it matters to are kids, and they don't tend to be early adopters.

Sure, but Microsoft in a tight spot does not give up. Windows Phone failed and 4 years later they still put millions into it. In fact, its not (imho) the best mobile OS because they kept improving it.

E3 is nowhere near the massacre that people paint it out to be. The PS3 launched at $300 more than the cheapest 360 (the 'Core', which launched at $299), with a terrible selection of games, a year after the 360, in a period in which the 360 saw Oblivion, Mass Effect, Gears of War and Halo 3 as console exclusives.

$80 is more than acceptable for a big long game like Mass Effect, Dark Souls or Skyrim In my opinion.
