I would say just pay up for the Dell IPS. It's not ridiculously priced as long as you get it on sale/with a coupon code, and the picture is just magnificent. Plus they basically will give you a new one if it has problems in 2 years.

It's funny because EA will give you a refund for practically everything. I know someone who bought The Old Republic, played it for 200 hours, and got it refunded (he *showed* me his bank statement to prove it) for $80 (it was the deluxe edition) 3 months after launch.
