Can you name a specific passage or statement that has come out of this book that you disagree with or consider sloppy? I read (listened) to the entire book on Sunday and I could not identify anything in the entire narrative that seemed made up or hyperbolic.  I’m sure there might be some inaccuracies but the overall

I guess you got to fight fire with fire. Logic and reasoning haven’t been able to take him down. Let’s get him with gossip and conjecture.

Actually speaking of good foreshadowing, in the pilot Eleanor says her parents are probably being used to torture each other in the bad place. When I rewatched I shouted “oh my god!”

This is either the best or second best sitcom where Ted Danson is the focal point of a group of lost souls finding meaning in their camaraderie. I can’t decide.

“I think we’re on a prank show.” He was basically right on that.

I can’t decide who I like more: Good Janet, Bad Janet, or Stoned (Good) Janet.

It’s really not hard to imagine a more conventional version of this show that’s still good, but not as transcending brilliant as what we got. Season 1 is all Eleanor trying to be a better person. S1 ending cliffhanger is that Jianyu is actually Jason Mendoza! S2 is all about trying to keep Jason under wraps, S2 ending

“Do you wanna hear about this cool cloud I saw?”

Side note: I loved the interview with Jameela Jamil, and I also find myself using “forking” and “bench” on a regular basis.

If the show should somehow descend into an abyss of mediocrity in the future, I can still look back on it with a smile because Mindy got her fucking cocaine.

The biggest laugh for me was Jason suggesting things have got out of hand and they should go to the cops.

Welcome to the pain. This is how we know we’re in the Medium Place. We get TGP, but we only get 25 minutes of it a week.

“I never thought I’d be the one to say it, but this is getting out of hand. I think we gotta go to the cops.”

Yeah, that’s their thing, though. They blow through storylines like tissue paper. Any other showrunner with this concept would be getting to this point somewhere around season 6.

I’m constantly amazed at how quickly they’re willing to blow through storylines. Any other show would’ve stretched these storylines for a whole hell of a lot longer. In anyone else’s hands, the Jason reveal would’ve been the big first season-ending moment. We’d be three seasons in before the “Bad Place” reveal.

No what? The Zouks is the best

As far as Bad Janet’s Scan-o-vision, it can be written off as a simple effect of how light works. If you hold a flashlight at eye level and shine it straight ahead, the beam of light won’t illuminate what is immediately in front of your feet. You have to change the angle of the flashlight to point down at the ground

It looks like they’re blowing up the Status Quo again. Mid-season! It worked great last time. This is the gutsiest, smartest, funniest comedy on TV. I can’t wait to see what comes next. DERECK!

The fact that Michael was just whispering ‘something something Vicki something something” over and over again killed me.
