I would totally love to take that route in my jeep! Too bad jackasses made our sport look bad and even more jackasses think they are the only ones who should be able to enjoy it. Thanks irresponsible idiots.

I'm always in favor of the legal system when it comes to getting your money back. Ain't nothing like a well-litigated suit to make a dealer sorry they ripped off the wrong person.

The murder weapon was questioned, but police were unable to extract any useful information.

What? You sound like an over-sensitive white person. Nobody made mention of race, or insinuated he can't manage money because he's black (??)

You could buy Michigan with $300,000.

Jason, which would rather have?

OMG! It looks like a Lego family just bought a camper to go on Holiday!

You just described why I searched the entire Southwestern US for the best gen1 Tacoma available at the time when I needed a new truck. I wanted a small, simple truck that was just big enough to haul a dirt bike.

The reason these holes exist is that marketing and short term profits are what drive the automakers. Not car design, not creativity, not the car nerds (like us) that work in the bowels of the company. These companies are run by people who do not drive cars. They ride in limousines to work. Look at companies like Dell.

"all these cars"

Cool post, but one pedantic correction:

I have 2004 Civic EX coupe with a manual transmission that happens to have the Honda Factory Performance kit on it. Been driving it since (almost) new in high school. Was never really the car I wanted, but with a manual and stiffer suspension the fun to cost ratio is quite high. I can't seem to get rid of it!

Yes! All will be covered.

Thanks Doug! Glad you could clarify some of the other forms of import besides the 25 year one. This is an extremely knowledgeable post. Now only 1 year until SR20DET 180SX's can be available!! Cant wait to order one.

In response to the many "if somebody hits you they pay" comments:

Damn this was a really good, very informative article. Now to import a brown wagon version of a Miata.

Should have done it in New York in front of a de Blasio appearance.

I wish they would plunk a 1.0L with about 80-100 HP in some of these weird Kei cars and bring them to the states. Specifically I want a Honda S660. But Kei Vans are so rad I would actually probably consider one. I know they won't sell here because 'Muricans hate small weird cars, but I can dream.

Ever since Jason Torchinsky wrote up his piece on the N Box Slash (N/), I've been dying to drive one. Then I noticed that one of the dealerships nearby had one on display inside their dealership, and I knew I just had to give it a spin. Welcome to the very first Jalopnik East review, where I drive shit Torchy can't
