My whole point is Apple doesn’t dictate the industry. (At least not anymore.) While your scenario is probable for Apple ecosystem inmates, I highly doubt it will happen for other brands.

Inaccesible battery, SD, and SIM cards were not Apple constructs though. Also, those didn’t nullify decades of people’s accessorys. (3.5 jack headphones.)
