When I lived in LA I worked at a sushi place he frequented. I only worked there a few months, and I only really recognized him from The Mist, but he seemed very chill. I’m always happy to see him pop up in stuff.

I liked him on Smallville, but I came to really appreciate him on the Being Human (US version...... damn the British one was fantastic!)

A fun, lightweight episode although I agree we need more off-world stories. 3 of the 4 stories have all been Earth-based. I’m wondering if this setting was a way to fill in Yaz’s backstory before they set off on more far-flung adventures. It looks like we might be returning to the RTD “friends and family” approach

Her excited delivery of “I’ve never been to Yaz’s place for tea” was adorable.

I loved that the Doctor kind of had to stop and think about when the question was asked.

“You made an awesome human” was the best line of the night

I. Love. Jodie. Whittaker.

Glad you noticed the shadow puppets too. I like the little background things like that.

For me the whole point of the spider plot was that it was meant to once again show how far the Doctor will go to not be cruel i.e. this is a completely unsympathetic, scary and disgusting bunch of creatures and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to find some solution sort of going to war with them. The failure, as

I loved the doctor hugging Yaz’s mum when first meeting her, and congratulating her on making a really excellent person

Yeah he seemed distinct from Trump, who’s been cutting an increasingly slovenly figure with age.

Yeah Yaz didn’t really throw out any comments on her sexuality in this episode, just shut down that she was seeing the Doctor or Ryan.

Quote of the day, “You can’t be president if you fire Yaz’s mum.”

And he spoke English coherently!

While the parallels between Noth’s character and Trump were obvious, and the only really likable thing about him was that he hated Trump, he did have a couple of moments that humanized him slightly I thought. He seemed at least mildly sorry his bodyguard and niece’s wife got killed I think. And he at least had one

I love Yaz. Was her cute hairstyle in this episode with the double mini-hair buns on top a modified Princess Leia look, since she is having space adventures now?

Yeah, it’s not subtle, but I was kind of thankful for that. I’m watching with my seven year old and the episode prompted some really positive discussions about racism, xenophobia, and what we can do to help others.

She’s just that gay for Kara that she couldn’t bear to let her out of her sight

But part of the reason migrants get jobs natives apply for is the migrants are better candidates.

Among many highlights of an impactful episode: when Kara brings Lena burgers for lunch, pretty sure that is the first confirmation that Big Belly Burger exists on Earth-38 ! (Yes!)
