The producer of WW gave an interview saying that while the script is only credited to allan heinsberg (sp?) the scene by scene of it was rewritten by patty and geof johns, and they were not credited because of the writers guild rules.

It would have been weak if the female superheroine we've been waiting for didnt have a big boss fight like all male superheros have. And like you said, the character simply doesnt work if the gods are not real. I for one applause DC that they didnt cop out and made the gods aliens like Marvel did with Thor.

Weirdly I almost stopped watching after the pilot because that ending is so, so dark. But I kept at it and now its the only MCU show I've watched more than once and the only Netflix show I've watched 3 times
