I got my drivers license in 1995. Every car was disappointing. They were all ugly, slow, underpowered, and unreliable. They were all so bad, they ushered in the SUV craze! Kids these days being disappointed with the BRZ and Porsches. I mean seriously!

I would do this if my wife would let me. We drive I40 from TX to CA and back twice a year. I40 is completely empty, minus a few small cities. No reason you couldn't go 85+, the speed limit is already 75. 100 would probably be safe.

On another site, someone recently posted tips for living in a warzone (Boznia in the' 90s) (while not being a soldier), and they also said a bike was much better than a car for dodging random snipers.

If we are judging food on looks, no wonder they never advertise Indian or Thai food on tv. And sushi roe looks like something that should be in a beanbag or perhaps used to kill an infestation, not stuck in your mouth.

A Volt is a $35k 4 door car that lacks back seat air conditioning. Actually as far as I can tell, none of GMs cars have backseat A/C except for maybe the very top line Impala and the ones originated in Europe/Australia (of course).

I think this story has just gone off the rails and the hate of Goddell is a bit over the top. I'm going to generalize a bit here about the gawker family, but they always seem to come down on the side of the individual over the corporate parent, but in this case it seems weird that everyone is towing the same line, and

Competely agree. We have 2 kids, and my wife is clamoring for an 8 seater van - so she can just drive around with the stroller and all that other garbage that you never need. She says she needs it but really its just waste on top of waste on top of waste. We've made multiple cross country trips in a 4 seater car, so

A loaded minivan with all that will run $40k, so they are only slightly cheaper than a SUV. You have to buy the upgraded model to get some DVDs for the kids, a huge ripoff package. The trunk on a minivan is very small, and a base model Dodge Caravan is a garbage ride, and is basically the same car they were selling

Minivans are not cheap - and the sliding doors are stupid. Does any other model of cars have sliding doors? No? Then why does a minivan need them? CUVs have normal doors for normal people, and they have the same room as a minivan for slightly more money.
