That link said fuel savings were 5% for the voyage. That’s a big step down from the 35% claim but still worth looking at when you spend millions a year on fuel. Real world costs must be too high to justify it.

This is not exactly a subtle vehicle.

I cant work out what two thirds of those mean, but i guess i’m still happy they included them.A sense of humor is always good

I feel like a bunch of people have never held onto a small parafoil in a decent breeze. Most of the kites they play with are intended to fly with good lift/drag ratios so they don’t pull too hard rather than being designed to maximize pull, which is an amount larger than a drag-sail as a spinnaker has. Since this will

So, they have been looking at windpower for ships for an insanely long time. I can’t think of a time in my life that I didn’t read about a return to windpower for cargo ships, that ends up not actually being commonplace.

Not everything is meant to cross the Rubicon.

I would drive this everywhere.*

Carlos is criminally underrated. Also a member of the drivers with cool dads club (NOT YOU JOS)  with Carlos Sr. still fighting for Dakar wins

I really appreciated your words about hem flanges.  I’m not even being sarcastic.

Those of us who love cars and the engineering behind them disagree with you.

Fucjin bravo, sir. bra-VO ^_^

Deep diving into the weeds of the banal inter-workings of cars is EXACTLY what makes car-sites awesome. Please dont read any of Torch’s tail light novels. Of all the gripes you could have had with this site, this is the hill in which you chose to die? Someone casts light on the subtle nuance of how your car works so

And thank you for your words. It IS wizardry when engineers use their knowledge to protect the people using the product.

60%!?!? What kool-aid are you drinking?

Just did a little research on my truck and the damper. They were not a factory installed item. They were part of a TSB for the 2004-2005 F-150, if the customer complained about vibrations coming from the rear of the truck, specifically “bed shake”.

No, it will still be $31000. You still cannot buy it with check for $18500, and you still pay sales tax and interest on $31000.

i think we’re in uncharted territory on this one... because id guess that alot of the used EV’s (in the US at least) were coming off leases.... and right now id bet that most people are buying out their lease, because it’s cheaper than trying to find another lease.....

This is obviously assumed used inventory exists (meaning new EV car sales need to happen first), and it works and is financially feasible for people. Given those assumptions - I totally agree. Anyone looking for a cheap commuter (or to keep miles off a nicer car) and has another family car in their garage could

It helps that a lot of the early adopters of EVs want to keep up with the times, and the increasing ranges on EVs certainly makes a newer one appealing. Combine those two factors and I think we’ll see a significant (though not huge) number of used EVs as more options are available for those who want to get into
