Autonomous...

They literally said “once all the kids are grown”

The solution to Johnson and others is clear: if these supply chain bottlenecks are to end, companies should stop being greedy and pay workers more and also buy more chassis to carry containers.

Wait, you mean that if laws aren’t enforced then people don’t follow them? Keep leading the way, Oakland.

This happened in Oakland, and I will say that anecdotally it appears stopping at red lights has become more of a suggestion rather than law.

Now playing

Having laws and regulations for safety is the price we pay for civilization. But how we choose to enforce those laws can cause as many, if not more, problems than they are designed to prevent. In a democracy, civilians are supposed to be involved with deciding the means and methods of that enforcement. If local

It’s not OK to drive with these defects, PA has mandatory statewide annual safety inspection, and this stuff has to work at the time of inspection or you don’t pass and don’t get your windshield sticker.

Good but I can see this one being an issue:

Also skid plates, and off-road drive modes, and often off-road gearing.

Canada geese = cobra chickens.

Swans, ducks, geese - they’re all assassins. Those razor-sharp teeth can take almost anything down.

Yes, the tires heat up from squishing and rebounding as they roll. Air is an excellent insulator so it helps keep the heat near the surface of the tire where it is most easily dissipated back to the surroundings. Even as the air starts to heat up it expands and cools (usually the pressure just goes up though).

my guess would be some kind of mesh covering for the sidewalls. something porous enough to allow air to freely pass through but keep the tire free of debris that is washable. that way you can just take off the mask and wash it then put it back. unlike a normal tire the airless design means you can have clip points all

Yeah, I think today’s futuristic-looking cars will be a good fit, but they have to be really futuristic-looking; I don’t think they look good in any production Tesla. Of course designs like the Cybertruck can probably pull it off because they’re so unconventional to begin with. But it will take a while until the

Ohh that makes sense, hadn’t thought of the heat (I’ve blown a couple of under-inflated tires in my lifetime due to the heat). Always assumed the development designs were meant to showcase the tech. In that case, this may be a product that companies should be counting on to have a slow start, waiting for today’s

Part of me wants to see if a car could get out. Maybe test different levels of ice and put out a TSB for it.

It’s a 1 in billion chance, but it could happen!”
