Fair question. The company disbanded its media relations office some years ago, and doesn’t loan out vehicles for reputable journalists to test drive, so I cannot evaluate their vehicles in the way I can vehicles from other manufacturers.

“Your next vehicle will be an electric vehicle.”

I don’t know who to trust. The road safety experts who say it’ll dramatically improve safety, or the people who call themselves “enthusiasts” but are primarily worried that it’ll be harder for them to break the speed limit.

Well, not compared to the Taycan Cross Turismo... that would be my first choice too. Or the EQS. But I don’t have that kinda money. :)

You have excellent taste.

There it is

“Oddball Tastes” and it’s not your only car?

I saw one on the road the other day and it was far sexier than it had any right to be, maybe more taller wagon than short SUV.

I’m hopelessly in love with the Taycan Cross Turismo.

No mention of the Polestar2, which I took delivery of this past Monday.

Very true - it’s mostly the rest of the electronics that would make me want the extra warranty, and Porsche’s program is pretty solid.  But that’s a very good point.  Just can’t afford a NEW Taycan.

I hear 1940's era Germans were well known for their skill in the art of reprimanding and also zany outfits!

I hear there are people that do that professionally.

For a few days I drove from Malmö north to Gothenburg and eventually east to Stockholm. I’ve never seen such reasonable driving in my life.

I’ve posted about this before, but I had a job one summer doing high-mileage testing for ford. What this meant was we drove next model year cars 500 miles a day, 4 days a week (there were 2 shifts doing this) to get a certain number of cars up to 30,000 miles. One of the cars was a V8 Mustang that was built to Saudi

It will not, we’ll just put tape over the cameras

About as well as gun control.

That’s just where it happened to break down.

At the 15-second mark in the video, you can see that a Harley rider has made a parking space out of the new void next to the jacked-up bollard thing.
