Even in Australia, where most light trucks look like this they make an effort. Every second one is lifted and fitted with oversize tires, has bullbars on either end for murdering pedestrians, and the roof is loaded with shovels and tents as if they’re going on an expedition.

Back when I lived in a poor island country in Asia, this would have been my perfect vehicle. The roads were bad, but not so bad that you’d want to rock-crawl it, you only needed space for yourself and an attractive travelling/aid-worker companion, and fuel was cheap. Perhaps I’ll skip responsibility and do it all again…

Did you consider the EQC? It appears to have the better mix of range, style, and mid-level luxury. Plus, it’s not a Tesla (with all that implies).

How I lusted over this when I saw it in the pages of Australian 4x4 Magazine. I knew that if Landcruiser was good, Megacruiser was better.

I love watching wind turbine blades being transported. Here in Australia it’s easier, just a job involving a large truck and a bogey very far behind it. And a few safety drivers and police.
